Before and After Meeting God

Before and After Meeting GodNow the young adults like the dew of the dawn are arising and coming to willingly devote themselves to God. I earnestly hope that they bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit abundantly with their youthful ambitions and burning faith. I also desire that all the members of Zion?female adults, male adults, youth students, children and senior adults, who display God's glory, receive the blessing of bearing much good fruit.
We've gone through a lot of changes before and after meeting God. Now, let's take some time to reflect on how much we have changed since we met God and what the differences are in our lives before and after meeting God, by reviewing the words of the Bible.

Wild olive branches that are grafted into the true olive tree
Before we met God, we were sinners living as slaves to death. The Bible likens us, who have been born again into eternal life after meeting God, to the "grafted branches."
Ro 11:16-24 『If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches. If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!』
In terms of botany, "grafting" means attaching part of one plant to the root or stem of another plant so that the two grow together as one. A branch that is grafted into another tree loses its original identity and becomes part of the organism to which it has been joined.
The Bible likens our relationship with God to a tree and its branches, and emphasizes that we can do nothing apart from God (Jn 15:1-5). Especially, the book of Romans portrays our organic union with God by speaking of grafting. This reminds us that we should throw off our old nature as sinners and change to resemble God's nature.
As for the same kind of species, the better quality species are described by an additional term "true," but the bad ones by "wild." It is the same with an olive tree. There are two kinds of olive trees: a true olive tree of good quality, and a wild olive tree of bad quality. We, the branches of the wild olive tree, are grafted into God, the true olive tree. Since we cannot return to the eternal kingdom of heaven with our original identity, we have been grafted into God and reborn into eternal life.
The well-grafted branches resemble the nature of the true olive tree. Supplied with sap and good nutriment from the true olive tree, the shape of the fruits becomes better and they become strong enough to defend themselves against insects and diseases.

Earthly desires are changed into heavenly hope
Before we met God, we lived simple lives, having only a limited time to live. If we didn't meet God, we would live without any hope, get older gradually while working so hard to make a living, and end our lives after lamenting the vanity and emptiness of life in the face of impending death.
Our lives have totally changed since we met God. Before meeting God, we set our minds on secular things, but everything changed after we met God. We are now called differently than before, aren't we? Previously we had no title, but since we met God we've received the titles "gospel workers" and "Christians," and even the honorable title of "Elohists." God has prepared much greater blessings for us in heaven.
Rev 2:25-29 『"Only hold on to what you have until I come. To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations?‘He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery'?just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."』
If we just hoped for earthly things such as running a business and having our own house on this earth before we met God, now we've come to have a much greater hope beyond comparison after meeting God. It is the hope for heaven; we have a desire to become a royal priesthood to rule over the nations in the kingdom of heaven. God has granted us a wider view so that we can see the whole universe.
Those who are ambitious on this earth dream of becoming a CEO of a company or President of a country. However, even if they acquire such a position after all their efforts throughout their lives, they cannot hold it for a long time, nor can they enjoy the pleasure and peace that they've expected. Outwardly it seems to be splendid, but in actuality it is accompanied by many hardships.
The authority of the kingdom of heaven is basically different in quality from the authority of the earth. The kingdom of heaven, where we who have met God are going to, is an eternal world where there is no pain or sorrow?where a new joy is created every day. God has promised to give us authority over the nations in the beautiful and eternal kingdom of heaven. God never lies. Although people in the world do not recognize us and we may seem very weak to them, everything will be so different when we go to the kingdom of heaven.
If we want to enter such a glorious kingdom of God, we need to give up our original identity as the branches of the wild olive tree. The Bible calls it "rebirth" to remove our nature as sinners. "No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (Jn 3:3). By saying this Jesus meant that we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven unless we are reborn as God's true children who have the divine nature after giving up our original nature as the branches of the wild olive tree.
We, who have met Elohim, are being changed from the wild olive branches into the branches of the true olive tree. Instead of putting our hope in earthly things, we should have great hope for heaven. God has promised to give us authority over the nations just as He reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords in the kingdom of God. Cherishing this promise of God deep within our hearts, we should run straight towards the goals above.

Peter's life before he met God, and his life after he met God
Peter, before he met God, was merely a fisherman who caught fish for a living. He lived an aimless life, working every day for himself rather than for the benefit of others. However, after he met Christ, there were a lot of changes in his life.
Mt 4:17-20 『From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.』
2 Pe 1:1-3 『Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours . . . His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.』
Peter's life after he met Jesus was totally different from his life before he met Jesus. His title changed from a "fisherman" to an "apostle." Before meeting God, he was only worried about how much fish he would catch each day. After meeting God, however, he thought about how many people he would have to lead into salvation. He lived a life of joy every day, having hope in God's promises and wishing to join the "royal priesthood" (1 Pe 2:9). Even though his body sometimes felt tired and exhausted, he had hope.
It was not only Peter who changed. Apostle Paul also became a totally different person after he met God. Just as the apostles changed so much, we've also gone through a lot of changes. Before we met God, we were the wild olive branches, but after we met God we've been grafted into the true olive tree and become part of it. So, we need to have our dreams and future with the true olive tree; God's hope should be our hope, and God's desire should be our desire.

Our selfish nature is changed into God's divine nature so that we can hope for the salvation of all mankind
It is the salvation of all human beings that God, the true olive tree, has always desired. The Bible says that the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost (Lk 19:10), and that the purpose of His second coming to this earth is also to save the world (Heb 9:28). So, we should try our hardest to save the whole world. Then we can be said to have received the nature of the true olive tree.
Mk 1:35-38 『Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!" Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else?to the nearby villages?so I can preach there also. That is why I have come."』
Christ had hope and concern for the task of saving the world. For this, He used to pray early in the morning, and never stopped preaching the gospel. The enthusiasm of God, who decided to save the world and put on flesh, has been transplanted into our hearts, so we are now making our best efforts to carry out the gospel work in our own mission field, aren't we?
If we lived for worldly things before we met God, we should now proceed toward the everlasting kingdom of heaven since we have met God. Studying God's word every day, we should change ourselves in a manner pleasing to God, so that we can fully become assimilated into God. We need to remove our sinful dispositions one after another and accept the nature of God, letting God's thoughts become our thoughts, God's joy our joy, and God's desire our desire. Then God will remain in us, and we in Him.
We must not go back to the way we used to be before we met God. We are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved (Heb 10:38-39); we have been born again since we met God.
God has led us to Him and given us the laws of the new covenant?the Sabbath, the Passover, etc. Telling us to keep His covenant and obey His commandments, God has asked us to change everything about us into that of Him. He has told us to do so in order to redeem us and not to oppress or burden us; for we, the wild olive branches grafted into the true olive tree, will decay and die in the end unless we receive the nature of the true olive tree. Since we are grafted into the true olive tree, we should be fully supplied with sap from the root of the true olive tree and possess the nature of the tree.
Jesus said, "Apart from me, you can do nothing" (Jn 15:5). If we turn away from the teachings of God, it is like a fish leaves the water and like the branches grafted into the true olive tree are cut off from the tree.

Put off your old self, and put on the new self
Romans 11 likens us, who remain in God, to the wild olive branches grafted into the true olive tree. Some other verses show that we are in the process of putting off our old self and putting on the new self.
Eph 4:17-24 『So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.』
The above verses state that we must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. We are to live a different life than that of the Gentiles. Satan makes all kinds of crafty schemes to plant the Gentiles's hope and desire in our hearts. However, if we give in to the temptation of Satan and become assimilated into the world, we go against God's will and become cut off from the true olive tree.
Everything about us, including our nature, thoughts, and lifestyle, should be changed. Our "old self" mentioned in the book of Ephesians means our original nature as the wild olive branches. When we remove our old self, we can become one with the true olive tree, as part of it.
The Bible clearly tells us what pleases God, the true olive tree. We should all be changed and please God by devoting ourselves to preaching the gospel, obeying God's will willingly, loving God's commandments, respecting and loving everything that belongs to God, and so on.
It is said that parents like the child who more closely resembles them. We must resemble God in full. Since God is pleased with the salvation of all human beings, we should also be pleased with their salvation and preach the gospel diligently, so that we can lead all mankind to the kingdom of heaven. With this spirit of faith, we must become one with God.
Now, many of our brothers and sisters in Zion throughout the world preach the gospel of God joyfully despite the scorching heat. They are all beautiful, resembling God. Until the day when the glory of Father and Mother resounds throughout the whole earth and the universe, let us put off our old self and put on the new self, so that our original nature as the wild olive branches can be changed into the nature of the true olive tree. Then we can be said to have been reborn and changed. I earnestly hope that you all bear much good fruit and receive the abundant blessings of the Holy Spirit, so that you will become a royal priesthood to rule over the nations in the kingdom of God.

God the Mother

All creatures receive life through their mothers.
No matter how small and insignificant a creature may be, a mother has devotional maternal love which enables it to sacrifice its life for its young.

Why did God create all things to receive life through their mothers?
And why do mothers, even the mothers of insignificant creatures, all have maternal love?

God, who created all things by His will, revealed to us the way to receive eternal life, through the principle of birth on this earth and through the noble character of God the Mother.

All organisms can only live as long as the life span that they have received from their mothers.
So, we can receive eternal life through our spiritual Mother.
That is because only God the Mother, who has eternal life, can give us eternal life.

In this age, we must become the children of God the Mother to receive eternal life.

Come to the Church of God that believes in God the Mother!

The Lineage of the Church of God

Today, there are so many churches and denominations, and they all insist that their doctrine is the gospel of the kingdom of heaven. There is only one Bible. Then, why are there so many churches and denominations?

Among them, which church is the true orthodox Church that has the perfect truth, the gospel of the kingdom of heaven?

God Who Has Saved Us

God Who Has Saved Us

World Mission Society Church of God- In this age, only God the Father Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother (Heavenly Mother) can give us salvation.

Time doesn't wait for us but speeds towards eternity. As we look back upon our past, we should not forget to give thanks and glory to God for His saving grace and love for us.

Children do not know how much their parents sacrifice for them. Even after they have grown up, they easily forget about their parents' love, as if they have grown up by themselves without their parents' devotion.

In the same way, we, God's children, can hardly grasp how wide and long and high and deep the love of our heavenly Father and Mother is who have given us eternal life and lead us to the kingdom of heaven. As the heavenly children, we should realize the boundless love of God who has saved our souls and give thanks to Him, always being joyful.

The breadth and depth of God's grace for salvationSuppose a man saved you by using all his strength when you were being swept away by floodwaters. Everyone was just watching you when you were about to die, not caring about you, but he didn't even think about his own safety and swam towards you through rough waters. In this situation, how should you feel towards the person who saved your life?

Suppose there were children choking to death in a smoke-filled house on fire. No one was willing to enter the house to save the children because his life would also be in danger if he went inside. Then a man ran into the fire to save the lives of the children. Fortunately, they were all right, but the man was injured when he jumped out of the window after rescuing the children, and he had to be hospitalized for treatment of the injury. However, he didn't demand any recompense or compensation. As the children grew up, they forgot how he had rescued them and even betrayed their benefactor. In this case, what kind of ruling would you make if you were a judge? If a person is not grateful to his benefactor, he deserves to be blamed by all people and be punished severely, doesn't he?

God has bestowed on us a much greater favor than this, which is the blessing of salvation. As the Bible says, "The wages of sin is death" (Ro 6:23), we were doomed to die since we had sinned in heaven and were cast down to this earth. When no one cared for us sinners and just watched us die, only God worried about the safety of our souls and even came to this earth to save us.

We humans are obligated to be grateful to the person, who has saved our physical life even though it's very short, and not to forget our benefactor all our life. Then, how could we betray our Benefactor who gave eternal life to us who were doomed to die forever?

God is our Benefactor who has saved us. The life God has given us is not temporary, but everlasting. Only to save His children who were doomed to suffer the punishment of eternal fire in hell, He came into this world full of sin and saved us, allowing His flesh to be torn and His blood be shed for us.

However, most human beings are oblivious to God's grace, and they do not seek God. Even we, God's children, have not fully understood the sacrificial love of God as the Bible says, "Each of us has turned to his own way," and, "we esteemed him not" (Isa 53:3-6).

The true meaning of the Passover of the new covenantWe must not forget the love of God, nor should we foolishly betray the Savior of our life or turn away from His love.

Inscribing God's love on our hearts again, let's meet God our Benefactor, who has delivered our souls from eternal death, in the Bible.

Jn 6:53-57『Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me."』

Who on earth would be willing to sacrifice himself to save sinners, giving them his own flesh and blood? However, God Himself has become a pledge of salvation for us by sacrificing Himself in our stead. He has delivered us from eternal death by giving us His flesh to eat and His blood to drink, torn and shed for us. By such a tremendous sacrifice of love for the atonement of our sins, God has freed us from sin and delivered us out of the shadow of death.

Mt 26:17-19, 26-28『On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?" He replied, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.' " So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover . . . While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."』

On the Passover, Jesus gave bread to His disciples, saying, "This is My body," and also offered them wine, saying, "This is My blood." And He told them to remember His holy sacrifice whenever they ate the bread and drank the wine (Lk 22:19-20; 1 Co 11:23-26).

We should not only rejoice in having received eternal life by eating the Passover bread and drinking the Passover wine, but in them we should find our Father and Mother giving us Their precious flesh and blood and looking upon us continually with eyes full of compassion and pity. God our Father and Mother have been sacrificed for us, like the Passover lamb. They've given us Their flesh to eat and Their blood to drink, and as the result of such a great sacrifice They have saved all of us, Their children. We must not forget the precious love of our Father and Mother.

The realization of the apostlesThe Apostle Paul quickly realized the sacrificial love of Christ. Even though he had never met Jesus face to face, he received Christ when he heard His voice on his way to Damascus. After receiving the truth, he realized that Christ had even endured the pain of the cross to save him, and wrote down his firm determination to never betray Christ's love and grace in the book of Romans.

Ro 8:35-39 『Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? . . . No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.』

Since Apostle Paul understood the sublime love of God, he never betrayed His love. He realized he was nothing, and considered everything rubbish, such as his worldly honors, wealth and scholastic achievements. Bearing the marks of Christ's suffering, he worked hard for brothers and sisters and never neglected preaching the gospel which Christ had entrusted him with.

Gal 6:14-17『May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. . . . Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.』

As Paul realized what kind of sacrifice Christ had made to save him, he considered his life worth nothing to him if only he could save his neighbors and the world. Five times he received the forty lashes minus one, three times he was beaten with rods, once he was stoned, three times he was shipwrecked, he spent a night and a day in the open sea, and he faced all kinds of danger. Despite all these hardships, he didn't hesitate to preach the gospel in obedience to the will of Christ (2 Co 11:23-28).

So did Peter. He truly realized that Christ was the Savior of his life and was determined to obey His holy will to the end. When over five thousand people, who followed Jesus because they saw the miraculous signs He had performed, turned away from Him, Jesus asked the rest of His disciples, "You do not want to leave too, do you?" Then Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life" (Jn 6:66-68).

Like them, we should fully realize God's love. The apostles like Peter and Paul left all things and passionately devoted themselves to preaching the gospel. Without the same realization as the apostles had, we will walk away from faith and fail to have a true faith, regarding faith merely as an ornament. When we deeply understand Christ's love and abide in the faith, we can see God.

Christ has come a second time to save His childrenOur heavenly Father and Mother, who are the Saviors of our life, have come to this earth in the flesh a second time to save us.

Heb 9:27-28『Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.』

Christ was prophesied to come to this earth a second time to save the souls that would die if they were left alone. The prophet Isaiah describes the process of God's saving His children when He comes to this earth a second time, as follows:

Isa 25:6-9『On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine?the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. . . . In that day they will say, "Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."』

"Aged wine," with which God swallows up death forever, means the Passover wine promised by Christ. It was our God who brought us out of the shadow of sin and death and led us into eternal life through the Passover of the new covenant.

The Passover is the day when God gives us life by giving us His flesh to eat and His blood to drink. For us it is the day of joy when we receive eternal life, but for our heavenly Parents it's the most painful day. Through the extreme suffering and sacrifice of our heavenly Father and Mother, we are healed and enjoy peace.

We preach not only the ceremony of eating the Passover bread and drinking the Passover wine, but the love of our heavenly Parents who have sacrificed Themselves to save our life. This is the true gospel.

Rev 22:17『The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.』

To lead those living in the shadow of death into life, the Spirit and the Bride have come to this earth in the last days?in the age of the Holy Spirit. Giving life is impossible without extreme pain and sacrifice. So God likens the suffering in the process of saving a soul to the pain of childbirth. Through this, God teaches us that as a child is born through the agony of childbirth, so a spiritual life can be born through sacrifice.

Give thanks, glory and honor to GodWe should proclaim the wonderful love and sacrifice of the Spirit and the Bride, who have saved us, to all the nations of the world. None of us should forget Their love or grumble against Them, instead of giving thanks. Let's find out what God's will is for us in the Bible.

1 Th 5:16-22 『Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.』

Being joyful always, praying continually and giving thanks in all circumstances, not forgetting God the Savior of our life?truly, this is God's will for us. The Savior came to give life to the world, but the world did not receive Him; they rejected and betrayed Him, instead of giving thanks to Him. Even in this situation, God silently endured the pains of childbirth for the salvation of our souls. He never asked anything of us for His own benefit, but just told us to live right according to the Bible and be broad-minded enough to embrace the whole world like an ocean, considering others better than ourselves.

Since our heavenly Father and Mother love us more than Themselves, They willingly endured the agony of the cross on behalf of us, rebellious sinners. We must not forget Their love. The kingdom of heaven is for those who are continually thankful to God Elohim for Their love. So, in heaven, all the heavenly hosts and angels always give thanks and glory to God sincerely and wholeheartedly.

Rev 4:9-11 『Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."』

Words cannot fully express the depths of the precious sacrifice of God. Viewed from heaven, God's sacrifice is so far beyond our comprehension. The great work of saving souls through infinite love can be done by God Himself alone. That's why the spiritual beings in the universe give praise, glory, honor and thanks only to God.

Let's think about why the Apostle Paul was so faithful to the gospel and why Peter followed Christ to the end?until he was martyred, crucified upside down. Understanding the grace of the Spirit and the Bride who have saved us, let us obey Their will and become the salt and light of the world through our good deeds. I hope all you brothers and sisters in Zion will save many souls by diligently preaching this good news, so that you will all be blessed by God in the eternal kingdom of heaven.

Ridgewood church lends a hand

Members of a Ridgewood church put their faith into practice this weekend — one shovelful of muck at a time — by helping Pompton Lakes residents clean up their flood-damaged homes.
More than 100 members of the Ridgewood congregation of the World Mission Society Church of God helped shovel out debris, knock down a damaged wall and bag trash removed from the basements of several homes along Washington Avenue on Monday.
For residents such as Satinder Bharaj, the group's arrival was a blessing.
At the height of the flooding caused by Hurricane Irene, water poured in from the front and back of the home where Bharaj and her husband, Balbir, have lived for the last eight years.
They were among the families evacuated from the area. Their son arranged for them to stay at a hotel in Parsippany. They were able to return home Saturday to inspect the damage.
"Everything is damaged," Bharaj said. "Nothing could be saved."
Her husband's injured knee complicated matters until a group of the church volunteers, whose members come from all over Bergen County, showed up to help dig out the debris from the basement.
"They are very polite and very helpful," she said.
Other neighbors who didn't need the group's help also were appreciative.
Mireille Greenberg initially invited the group to her house, but after consulting with her husband, Herb, and their son, Peter, declined the help.

Park Clean Up

world mission society Church Of God "Park Clean Up"

Park Clean Up

Via View Park is one of those lost in the shadow of the Oak or Roosevelt Parks.
It was a popular one last summer, for all the wrong reasons.
But it was the first of Minot's parks to get attention from a volunteer group that's aiming to brighten the valley.

(Charquez Taylor, World Mission Society Church of God) "The flood took a lot of the life away from here in the ground so we're going to clear all this out for the summer. Even though the ground is kind of hard now, we're going to try to spruce it up a little bit and in the summer time it will be a lot easier to plant flowers and things like that."

The group is from the World Mission Society Church of God which is 2200 churches strong world wide.

(Charquez Taylor, World Mission Society Church of God) "Our church is actually doing a mission all across the world by cleaning up and beautifying the world, showing the love of Christ in the last days."

A global restoration mission, it only happens that locally, their initiative is needed now more than ever.

(Charquez Taylor, World Mission Society Church of God) "The flood season, it was difficult for everybody. We see in the parks, there are many things the city doesn't have, so we were the first to actually work with the park directors. Also during that time, people can see our church doing good deeds and good acts and what we're actually doing is spreading the love of the Heavenly Mother."

The group met with Minot Park District Director Ron Merritt on Monday to make a plan of action to continue cleaning in the parks that need it most.

(Charquez Taylor, World Mission Society Church of God) "He actually wants to set up a plan every week because we have a goal to clean up every park in Minot. Right now it's difficult. Oak park is closed. The bigger parks are closed. So we're going to start little and work our way up."

You may see them around town, the group plans to be in a park dressed in yellow every Sunday as weather permits.
Brightening the shadows of the flood for all the right reasons.
